Q:What is Multi Theft Auto?
A: Multi Theft Auto (MTA for short) is a MMO based mod for GTA San Andreas, now in the context of mmo I mean just massive numbers of players.. and that's about it.
Q: What do you do in MTA?
A: You can do all sorts of things in MTA! You can play a variety of gametypes from Sandbox, freeroam,
DAY Z, Cops N' Robbers, Roleplay, and more!
Q: How large is the playerbase?
A: Very large, There are some servers that have over
+400 players playing at one time, and many others with
+50 players at one time.
Q: Sounds amazing! What's the catch?
A: Well, for starters the game doesn't have very many US servers and not too many english speakers.. but the largest servers require you speak english in main chats, and most of the playerbase i have come across isn't too friendly either to american players.
Q: How do I get MTA? how much is it?
A: Depends on how you go about it,
The game requires ONLY GTA:SA 1.0, Not 1.1 nor 1.2. That being said, if you buy the game on steam for its $20 pricetag, you need to downgrade your copy of the game, otherwise you can torrent the game.
The mod is also free as well.
I personally play on a server known as
CitNet which has anywhere from 400 - 800 players playing at one time. It is a multi-genre server with RP, Cops N' Robbers, Job Simulators, and more.

On my personal opinion, you have to play the game for yourself to see why i've been playing it so much.
