I think that pre round should be shortened to 30 seconds, it's really a long time at the moment.

I think a better system could be like noxiousnet, where the better you do, the more votes you get. Maybe a round win as an innocent gets you one extra vote, a traitor win gets you two, and a traitor kill as an innocent grants .5, and killing another innocent subtracts .5? IMO it's unfair VIPs already have to extra time to use voice chat, that meter drains really fast for non-vips.

Yeah we have the last stand. We have a scuicide bomb which is almost the same thing, except you have to charge it first.

More likely than not, we'll remove some of the unused, filler player models and replace them with more desired/suggested ones so as to not have an overabundance.

It would be amazing if you added a detective weapon : Ammo station! you hold E on it and it gives you ammo (functions exactly like the health station except looks way more badass)


I really want this to be added because i hate when i'm detective and i'm in a battle or i have a special weapon and i cant find ANY ammo for it.


it wouldn't be able to give ammo to weapons : Golden Deagle, AWP, Teleporter, Radar, CAN'T GIVE AMMO TO ANYTHING THAT GIVES HEALTH, and of course can't give ammo to last stand.



It would also be great if you could add 2 weapons for the traitor and detective called smart missile and dumb missile.


The smart missile would drop a giant crate from the sky and it takes 2 seconds after firing it to reach the ground-
- what the weapon does : (it's for the T) After landing it would explode and kill any detectives that are within a short distance.


The dumb missile would be for the detective and it is the same thing except-
- this: instead of dropping one it drops 10 in random places that are twice as small and instead of killing it just freezes EVERYONE in a short distance in ice--
--for 2 seconds.

As with all of the new maps (waterworld, whitehouse, etc.) except for MC Skylands, for some reason, they won't download properly. As a result, an admin will need to change the map should they be voted for until either we fix them or remove them entirely.

This is a good point. I think it should be 30 pre, 20 post.

Firstly, the scoreboard now displays color-coded ranks. Furthermore, our voice boxes show cool decibel readers while talking as seen above.

Continued, we have an entirely new chat box. Not only is it streamlined with sliding names/profile pictures, our website is displayed as well as having an easy-to-access donation link for those interested in supporting the server (the coin stack button takes you directly here).

I have to give thanks to Suika (forum account here) for making this all possible, and hopefully he can continue to provide us with some great content to take TTT (and Red City) to the next level!

Wow, awesome! Exactly what I was hoping for. Fingers crossed for more great content. The killed by a traitor/innocent will help the admins so much because people will KNOW if it was a t or inno, and not just assume it was an innocent. I do have a slight concern that it may cause a little more ghosting, but we hardly see that anyway. I've had to deal with ghosting only 2 times, so I don't think its much of a problem.

It usually looks good, not a lot of maps have white, which is somehow what scar was looking at. Most are dark or at least colored.

Honestly, it's a non-existent thing in TTT because ghosting is extremely difficult. When someone ghosts, they still can't kill you. Unless they have specific reason for killing you, regardless if you're traitor or not, they will be slayed. Ghosting is simply handled by asking players why the killed X and for what reason.

There's a really cool weapon I'd like added called the Armee-Universal-Gewehr.  Its a pretty standard rifle, but for some odd reason it isn't on the server.  This and a semi-automatic pistol that was designed in 1911 and commonly manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company.

There's also a neat map that gives light to the plight of the imprisoned jews from the Holocaust by use of cow parties.

Only if you have time to look at them, if the traitor is smart then at most you'll only catch a glimpse. The hook for detectivestoo would be neat, and might make killing the detective more beneficial since he can just hook to bodies for dna.

Then maybe it should be for detectives only. It makes it easier for the detective to travel and identify and scan the bodies, and it would give traitors a reason to kill off detectives a lot quicker.

Is it possible to nerf the grappling hook? Right now, it is almost equivalent to noclipping. If there could be a 10 second usage with a 5 second cooldown, that would solve it.

Do the limited usage thing Ricky suggested. Currently you can stay in the air indefinitely and strafe like bhopping to gain speed and control where you go. You start to go fast enough it's hard to get shot down. Making people have to stop every few seconds would make it more fair.

Limit the uses to 5-10 and limit the length of the rope.  IMO, a good length would be from the ground to the top of the roof on nipperhouse.

So, with the help of TK, I've added quite a few things back and changed things per suggestions:

- End round music is back!
- End round slow-mo is back!
- I've reduced the range of the grappling hook to a very agreeable, fair distance to where you can still go to far-off buildings, but you cannot immediately hook onto the top of the map.
- The defibrillator is now on the server and available to traitors only, for the time being.

Basically.

It's calling the function to start the rope. If you do something like (pseudo code..)

attack  = attack + delay

it wont let you start another attack until after the time is up

im really out of it so i dont even know what im doing is right atm but you get the point

This. If they rtd and die, they can deal with it. They took the risk, now they have to deal with it. My only concern is the ignite from rtd. That can be used to spectators light players on fire...

For the chat to not allow you to global chat when you're dead. like the old chat.  I've done it so many times where I hit y by accident type a huge thing only for it to say i cant use it when im dead.  Just have it be like the old one when it just says like "you can not use this chat when dead."

Katana serves the same purpose I think, it's already a bit annoying downloading models etc. upon first joining the server, gotta make every file be worth it.

I have adjusted it so it won't open if you are dead + Round is active

The problem is, The hook it's called on to open, PlayerBindPress, is called both when you press a key, and release it, so the chat prints it twice, which i'm not sure if you guys give a fuck or not. I'll look into it though.

Edited the list, so it should be better now.



Some fresh blood was on the server today.

They said they loved the server; everything about it. Except for one thing.

The voice chat. They hated how you couldn't hear people that were further away. I don't know if this is worth changing to get more people, or if you like it how it is now.

It's just something to note.

The fact of the matter is that while it may be inconvenient to have to be close to someone to speak, it is a much better alternative than being able to hear someone call out a traitor across the map as Ian mentioned (which would be simply unfair). Also, it adds a realism/immersion factor to the game, and that's something we shouldn't take for granted.

At the very least, that's my take on the topic.

I agree with this 100%. I also prefer the proximity chat, but it is worth noting that we could be losing players due to the chat.

Not a problem at all, just be sure to read up on the rules here. Some of them are a bit unexpected.

Another thing that I've noticed about servers without proximity chat is that everyone seems to want to talk at once, and it leads to rather headache-inducing, obnoxious experiences.

However, you do bring up a good point in the possibility of losing players to it. Should a player be expressing their concern for the system, be sure to explain why we incorporate it, and I'm sure they'd understand.

I prefer global chat because to me I see it as the upside is it's global, the downside is that once you're in it - you're in it. You can't do anything unless you hit enter and someone can easily take that time to kill you.

I can see both sides to the proposal, though.

I like it local. Global is stupid. People are right in your ears all the time and you don't know who's near you. I found global servers to be just a bunch of people yelling all at the same time.


I actually haven't had anyone complain that it's proximity. A few people asked about it, but they didn't complain or leave because of it.

Later in the future a global wide server chat would be amazing, a player could type as an example "!global Hello" and people from DarkRP, TTT, Deathrun, and whatever Gmod server we have at the time can see it, it could show up something like "From TTT: xevo7x: Hello" People could communicate across servers and it would be a great way to fill up one, we could just say "!global Hey, come play some TTT with us!". I think this would be a great thing to add into the servers in the future.
I'd wager it'd be used for "Holy shit RDMer on darkrp"... which we already have mumble for.






edit: oh, speaking of mumble, could some admins at least sit in it when they're not on the server, just incase?

I know Glitch and myself chill on there quite a bit - it's not like that's where people go to report anything though. Grabbing an admin is almost always done through steam.

Before now, VIPs inherited permissions from our broken, unused admin rank. That broken, unused admin rank inherited permissions from our currently unoccupied developer rank. I just removed the ability for a developer to see admin chat, which, in turn, makes it to where VIPs can no longer see admin chat.

Agreed. 36 for the optimal TTT experience. But if 36 does lag, then it has to be reduced to 35.

I was thinking 32, I think that that could still push the server and cause issues.

Will do. Once everyone has gotten off for the night, I'll set the player cap to 36 and restart the server.

Furthermore, I've added Spraymon (per the suggestion of Shad), so we can now see who sprayed what like we used to be able to.

There are a lot of files that should be fixed. i.e. the sounds for the grappling hook, the icons for the point shops, etc. That's just adding to the never-ending list. Hopefully they'll be fixed in the future.

sounds dont exist because I never gave it to him (woops)

The icons work for me, not sure if he resource.AddFile'd the models or not. Only 1 doesnt work.

I've been adding content whenever possible (such as addons). Most of the items suggested (such as player models) require access to Fast DL in order to properly add them to the server. There are plenty of good TTT maps, that were made for this gamemode, I don't see a point in going through all that trouble just to use a town like map.

That was already suggested, as you can see above. It does, however, show that after two people suggested it that the pack would probably make people's experience better.

Could we make a rule or set it so that it must be a certain time before you can use T items. Cause homestly on the map with the fireplace ladder it is rather annoying waiting in the room for idiots to get unclogged from the ladder them immediatly shot down with a last stand. May just be personal preference but i thought i'd throw it out there

The Scoreboard administration is an addon not by me, because derma is actually, very difficult imo.

It seems to "reset" to the top corner of the screen, at least for me, not sure if others are experiencing this. If you, are please report it, and I'll look into it.

edit:

fixed, i have no clue what the the problem is, but it seems to do with the fact it doesnt have a suboption menu, so i just gave everyone access to the admin tab

if you're admin, it doesnt work though. So dw.

if they're not, it still shows to them, but it wont work.


edit:

I suggest upping max karma to 1100 or 1200, since good players make accidents sometimes, and losing 100 karma over an accident is sorta dumb, damage reduction.

I never thought about that. I've gone ahead and increased the max karma to 1200, while players still start off with 1000 karma upon first joining.

Also, an option that I had enabled was to display "near death" or whatever status I had directly on top of my health bar, and now with the new HUD, the status of my health is on the top left of my screen and is cut off slightly. I'll edit this to show a screenshot of it, if needed. A fix should be in order.

I can see this being overpowered even with the credit per change idea. Also, it'd be tricky to pull off.

Nothing will cost more than 1 credit. TTT is not intended to do that. Regardless, it's too overpowered, since names being changed breaks core elements of TTT.

It was a sorta pointless option anyways. Just look at your health @ the bottom.

Still going to push for this because, I don't see how it would defeat the color scheme, it's a dark grey background, the only time when it would "clash" is when the player is at "badly wounded" and that's when it would be the same color as the ammo, which isn't really an issue imo.

-1, it will be abused to hell, and I think we once had it too. And people abused it of course, but I might be thinking of another server.

uhh... we have binoculars...... if a body is in vision you can ID it.

Binoculars are terrible though.  They take too long to use, have very few maps that they are even decent on, and even when you can use it, it's often not worth the credit.

This is TTT end round much, much simplified. It's a bitch to add songs usually, and scarlette agreed. This should simplify it by a LOT. Drop this in lua/autorun/server and create a directory called "tttend" in sound/ and create "inno" "trait" and "time". Drop each song mp3/wav in either folder and it'll automatically send it to the client and make it playable by the server.

I've removed that map entirely until I find a properly working version. I wasn't expecting it to have such a hard time.

Taiga already said no to raising credit cost of items earlier.
I do think the binoculars time should be reduced by 20-25% though.

The toy map looks great. The fretta had the last map and it was pretty cool for sniping, but I found it more annoying than anything because of how easy it is to fall to your death.

Binoculars are terrible though.  They take too long to use...

In light of this, I've reduced the time it takes to process ID'ing bodies with the binoculars from 5 seconds to 3.

Also, I've added back our day/night Castle maps, and I'm currently working on fixing Waterworld so that it will download for everyone properly.


I've fixed the Waterworld downloading issues, and it's now playable!



Also, I've removed the version of Kakariko without the Ocarina, so the only one remaining should be the newest version.

It doesn't matter how long the clips are entirely, it will only play the first 20 seconds (which is fine, it's as I intended it). I added each clip with that limit in mind.

Maybe we could offer rewards for people inviting friends and getting more people on. I remember that sometimes Tweedle would advertise through console on deathrun that if we hit certain benchmarks such as 20 people, everyone in the server would receive a certain amount of points. We could offer X amount of points to Y amount of people. (Such as 500 of 20, 1000 for 25, and so on and so fourth.) It would be awesome if we could do something like this on TTT.
By doing this on TTT, it will more than likely increase our average amount of players, and give newer players more of a reason to invite friends other than the reason of more players.

Getting LUA Errors from the fretta-like map-vote addon we have, and TTT Traitor Glow

I have this clientside so it won't download, but tries to run. I fixed the fretta-like map vote error after changing a few settings. (I set a table to nil client-side :~)

The glow refuses to stop spamming, and don't know what's causing it, this is only on my side. To ask, scarlette, did you remove the addon? if so, then I can just remove it off my PC

Looking at the code I don't see how it's glitchy unless it's because a player went dormant and the render is still there. I can remake it if you want

I also wrote an anticheat, but because it has methods that would eliminate basically every single cheater that doesnt know how to program their own high-level stuff and even me, I don't want to give it to the public, but I have an add-on that will take a picture of the clients screen and show their person requesting it. Very little people know how to detour it. (very simple actually) but it'll catch cheaters easily if you just try and look at their screen (It'll show their ESP,Wall hacks, ETC)


You guys can decide what gets implemented, and scarlette as well.

Nah there is a point because some maps or when the sever is full most of the weapons are token or left with really bad weapons. also we shouldnt add anything special because it might get abused.

imo loadouts and shit like that for VIPs is unfair, especially because on some maps weapons and ammo are scarce by design.


Also admins aren't on 24/7 for the grappling hook

Wouldn't you be able to just spawn yourself with a shotgun and or p90 and deagle and win every confrontation you experience? Seems to be a large advantage. But then again that is the point of donating, Keeping the server alive and getting the specially stuffs

If we do add it, I think it should either be Everyone or noone gets it. You shouldn't have a major advantage on someone who has not donated

This. This is did not know. It seems to be fairly reasonable then. Think it would be nice to just spawn with your trusty deagle or pump shotgun. Sounds like a good idea to me, Aslong as they cant just get several guns of course.

EDIT: also, i think it would be cool if there were a couple weapons that you could get that wouldn't normally spawn around the map, (nothing OP, maybe just binoculars or something just as crappy, but still useful) but, now that i think of it, it would be annoying if everyone got the same weapon every round, so i think it would be a great idea if you got a system similar to the T selection system, and made it so that depending on the number of people, a number of inno's would get 1 credit each (also you shouldn't be able to send credits to people) so it would be like, if less than 7 people, 1 guy gets credit, if there is a detective, 2 innos get a cred, and so on forth. (i would like this because than you could have the little joy of a special round without having to be a traitor)

Why? Keep in mind it's the exact same as a T or D shop. innocents maybe will get a max of 1-2 credits, most likely 1, and they wont even get op shit. like normal weapons... maybe a riot shield. Don't know.
