(sorry to steal your thread samm, i had no idea you posted about this, all credits goes to you for the findings)

Has anyone else heard of this game yet. I am very excited for its release sometime this year. I don't think it is recognized enough that is why I made this thread. Can you guys give me your opinions on it? Here is the developers YouTube channel. He has created all of this by himself with no ones help.

YT Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/WollayFX?feature=watch

Also here is his Blog: http://wollay.blogspot.com/
Cube World is a Voxel Game like minecraft, except its more combat oriented and you hunt monsters and level up.

I have some videos that explains and shows the game really well.

More Videos Can Be Found HERE (http://www.youtube.com/user/WollayFX)

THE GAME IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT, AND HAS JUST ENTERED ALPHA PHASE

You could have also added on to his thread.
You could also add his post to yours.

Either one, its kind of rude to just remove someones post and replace it with yours, even if it is more clean. I do thank you that you added Samms post but its not right to just make a new one.

He was unaware that Samm had made a thread until after he posted this, and he did add in Samm's post and improved upon.  What is the difference between TK being the OP and Samm?  No offense to Samm but TK's thread is:
A. In the right section
B. More Descriptive
C. Looks better

Anyways, HOLYFUCKNUGGETS.  I looked at this game months ago back when he had first started developing it and dayum has it improved.  The combat system looks amazing (Healing seems a bit OP though), it has a unique system of transportation, the mobs aren't complete pushovers, and it looks 9001% better than minecraft.  Those trees brah.  Overall, it seems to me like a WoW-Minecraft-SomeothergamethatIcan'tthinkofthename hybrid with some of the best aspects of both.  I'm not sure if you know the answers but I do have a couple of questions.  Do the structures and cities naturally and randomly spawn?  Does it have building similar to minecraft?  Has it accepted Jesus Christ as it's Lord and Savior?

great question, if i where to assume Since its a Voxel game each town could be randomly generated. Or they are permanently placed but the area between towns are random generated.
Title: Cube World -- A RPG Styled Voxel Game of massive proportions.
Post by: Samm on June 20, 2013, 10:16:08 PM
The towns are randomly generated (Much cleaner than Minecraft Lol) with randomly generated names. The world you create is generated randomly and can be made with a seed similar to minecraft. The name of the land is random and the towns may be named after it IE. (Randomly generated name) City. You cannot build whatever you want like minecraft, instead Woally has made pre-made schematics that you can craft and place to make a home, town, ect. You can also create you own weapons in the way you want them to look.

and it is fine with me that TK made a better and cleaner post.

POST-MERGE:
Sorry to double post but I was wondering if RC will ever make a multiplayer server for Cubeworld when it releases?

Fixed your doublepost

And, im fine with the premade schematics idea, the game's focus seems to be mainly adventuring and combat, not so much building.

As for a multiplayer server? We'll see how popular it is among us.

Will the game cost money? or be free? I have no idea.

I. Need. This. Game.

The soundtrack, the atmosphere, the gameplay, everything. It's a perfect combination of what I treasure most: the mood, the feel and the uniqueness of it all.

You better believe that the moment the alpha releases (if it is available), I will have it. As a side note, it feels good to be seriously and genuinely interested in a game after a long time of bated breath.

On  the website it tells that you can only play with up to 3 people (4 total) so I doubt RC could host a server for everyone.

James, I would say since people on the internet are awesome moders ( Ex. Minecraft, Skyrim, Marrowind, etc ) I would give it maybe a couple of months before someone or a team of people crate a mod that allows for more then 4 people to play together. But yea I'm picking this game up when I can cause it just looks like so much fun.

If you look on the website it says they are planning to add massive multiplayer servers.

Go to the cubeworld tab and scroll all the way to the bottom.

EDIT: There is online multiplayer servers.

"Multiplayer is possible over the Internet. The server application can be run on a dedicated server or a private computer (using port forwarding for routers)." - https://picroma.com/cubeworld

I've already picked up my copy and have had a chance to play around a bit, but be sure to pick up your own copy as soon as possible as this is posted on the front page:

Goddamnit Scar, you snatched the post before me. Was seriously going to announce it minutes after you did

But yeah. When I woke up to see it released, I screamed to the heavens because I would have to wait till six for my dad to get home to purchase it. After a minute of crying, I realized he didn't have work today.

*faceplam*

Have fun everyone!

I have a question for you all that already have their hands on said game

1.) Is it worth spending 15$ that i dont have?

2.) Is it better then any of the other minecraft like games that claim they're nothing like minecraft?

3.) Best feature?

I have only been able to play 30 minutes so far and its awesome. The game has a few hidden controls that I had a hard time finding but otherwise I love it. Cube World is actually sold in Euros, so its about $20.00 dollars in USD. Defo worth it. The combat system and play feel is fan-fucking-tastic. I love it, 100%, 9.5/10

1.) Depends on your type of game. Look into it, watch some gameplay footage.
2.) This game isn't a minecraft clone. Really one of the few similarities in it is that it's a voxel style game.
3.) Customization, which also ends up being the worst feature.

only thing I don't like, when you are new and have only the base weapons, you will die a lot and a lot. The only real opponents the first hour or so are sheep and cats.

Well...

It has some layers, and you can have some good times with it. The graphics are ok and so is the audio. The main thing missing from audio is music, which isnt that big right now. For the time that I have played it, It seemed ok.

The main thing keeping me from playing this game has to be the fog monster...

http://www.youtube.com/v/yV5pP3iMBl8

Overall, I would give it a solid 8/10. It seemed like my PC could handle it, but apparently not. :P
When my bud plays with me, he too has to face the fog monster every other minute which ruins the fun of everything.

Haven't had any issues with fog, but there was someone on wollay's twitter asking about fog so you should check out what he says how to fix it.

The game seems very good from what I have played of it, however I do have a few gripes.
1. Basically impossible to beat any type of mage/wizard/witch until level 2 or 3.
2. The missions aren't time effective.  It took me about an hour to do one where I had to fight a bunch of zombies and skeletons which each only gave 1 exp and the boss only gave 10 and an item that I currently have no use for.
3. Armor and weapon drops are completely random so you rarely find any for your class, and what you do find is normally below you.
4. Food isn't effective for the materials it takes to make and the health you gain from it.  Meanwhile, a potion costs 2 copper for the flask and a heartflower which is found every 10 steps, heals faster, and can be drank while moving.
5. Random, massive, game-breaking lag that has gotten me killed many times.
6. At the edge of chunks where the adjacent chunks haven't loaded, you have reduced vision and if you move into an unloaded chunk, you can't see at all and you can still be attacked.

Also, we need to get a server going for this, singleplayer seems kind of stale (at least as a ranger) because I either completely rape the mobs before they can get to me or I get raped as soon as Im hit.

The game is only four player cooperative at the moment, so that probably won't be possible for a while. But, its really easy to host a 4 player server.

I've had a great time playing thus far and, thankfully, I haven't had any noticeable performance issues. For me, the entire world renders as far as I can see, so I haven't had to experience what the others are mentioning.

Furthermore, I haven't died yet, so perhaps it's simply due to being a warrior? In any event, it has been a blast so far, and I have only yet to scratch the surface.

It's not a minecraft look-a-like at all. The dev has stated that he got inspiration from Minecraft, but even the art-style isn't really Minecraft. In minecraft, it's large blocks with 16x16p textures pasted on over them. In CubeWorld, it's little voxel cubes making everything up. The game's definitely worth it. I got it for $20, and that gets you every update, and since it's in Alpha, it'll just keep getting better.

I got it as soon as I could and played quite a bit of it. It's fun for the first 20-30 levels, but then when you go onto multiplayer with a few friends and start doing missions as  a team, it gets pretty easy and soon enough you are rank 300 and the game is boring. It could be fun again if they add the building houses aspect but there is no indication that is coming soon.
