Mass effect series review.
« on: June 21, 2012, 12:56:16 AM »
As some of you might be able to tell (From my sig, and my forum profile). I've been playing the Mass Effect series.
A few things to cover before jumping into this: I'm a FPS gamer, RPG games bother my because of my OCD to go through
and complete everything in every way possible; this is the reason I've decided to crunch through this series doing only what I have to do
plus some side missions.

Mass Effect 1:
It [ME1] felt pretty good, it needed some polish and the movement felt a little odd, but the command system was brilliant and worked
really well, the guns could get a bit annoying dealing with what ones to use, and all the different version, but that's the trade-off of most
RPGs.  The story seemed to wrap itself really well, and I <3 Garrus as a squad member; mainly because he has quite a bit of depth
and is "equal" with Shepard in most situations.  This is also the reason I like Tali (Save the "Equal" part, she is not a sniper)
(P.S; I killed wrex)

Mass Effect 2:
This game really perfected it I think, it had enough polish to make me feel like it was a directed story that could go somewhere.
I had ample choice to plow through the game, or earn loyalty with the characters (Which I did, All but Jack.)
I decided to Romance Tali in ME2 because, well, admit it; she has the most back-story as of this far in the game, and I dig that.
Don't get me wrong though, if I'd of played Femshep, I would have totally "Romanced" Garrus.
The story, P2.  I disliked working for Cerberus, but this makes itself apparent with Shep's dialog options.
The ending felt pretty good (Nobody died 'sept Jack)
(P.S: I saved Grunt, and did his loyalty mission)

Mass Effect 3:
Working on it; although; they tried to polish this game, but it really feels rushed, and they took a lot of nice things out of it.
Also, THE BUMP-MAPS ARE FUGLY, DID YOU SAND EVERYBODY'S FACE BEFORE PUTTING A LOW-RES NORMAL MAP ON IT ???
